Rotary Club Organises Polio Awareness Rally and Outreach Programme at Kodaikanal

A Polio Awareness Rally and outreach programme was organized by the Rotary Club at Kodaikanal Lake with the objective of creating awareness about polio eradication and the importance of immunization among the public.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Kodaikanal, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the rally. More than 50 college students actively participated in the event, along with Rotary members and officials, making the programme impactful and well-organized.

The rally was conducted around the Kodaikanal Lake, where students carried banners and placards conveying strong messages on polio prevention and vaccination. The participation of students played a major role in attracting public attention and spreading awareness effectively.

After the completion of the rally, the participants proceeded to a Polio Home, where an awareness programme was conducted. The importance of regular immunization, continued care, and social responsibility towards polio-affected individuals was explained in a simple and meaningful manner.

As part of the initiative, awareness cut-outs and posters were placed at several important locations in Kodaikanal to ensure sustained public awareness. The programme highlighted Rotary’s continued commitment to the global mission of a polio-free society through community involvement and youth participation.
